Ethnobiological notes
The beaver is a large water-dwelling rodent found throughout British Columbia and much of Canada. Beavers are known for building lodges, or houses, out of logs and sticks that they cut up with their sharp teeth. They eat the bark, roots or leaves of many different trees, shrubs and other smaller plants.
